Smart aircraft seats identify the passenger requests, This is not a scene in a science fiction movie, It is a new invention that you will witness it soon offered by Turkish Airlines.
Kibar Holding, the Turkish group specialized in aircraft seating industry has announced its intention to operate a number of the smart seats developed for the benefit of Turkish Airlines in the near future.
This came on during the Commercial Vehicles in Hannover city (IAA), the largest specialized international exhibitions in commercial vehicle and logistics that is currently taking place in the Germany.
The new seats will be available on the Turkish Airlines for Business Class passengers equipped with new technology that senses passenger personal demands that are saved on a database automatically without interactions by passengers.
Tamer El-Saka, chief executive of the company said that in addition to the entertainment systems including display monitor other features will interact real time with the traveler's wishes and choices as it will enable travelers to change their angles ensure their comfort.
He pointed out that the idea is part of 'Smart Concept' project which aims to develop whole sector of aircraft seats industry in cooperation with their partners the Turkish Airlines.
In turn, Okan Gidik the general director General of the manufacturer company that the development of the smart seat took around three and half years where 13 engineers worked so hard to come up the final product that includes 500 pieces make up the seat, pointing out that many of international companies liked the product and began to communicate with the company in order to get more details about the new features of the smart seat.
The company posted a promotional Youtube video for the seat through its official website shows the new features and controls that travelers can enjoy.
The seat base is flexible and is moving to different angles up to a maximum of 10 degrees while the back can tilt up to 46 degrees.
In terms of seat size Gidik said that his company did a good job in reducing the seat weight lighter materials adding that each kilogram on board costs $2,500 of fuel annually.
It is worth mentioning that the company has presented its products at the 66th IAA Commercial Vehicles exhibition in Hanover, Germany with the participation of more than 2000 companies representing 52 countries around the world.
