SanDisk Introduces The First 1 TB SD Card.

SanDisk unveiled the US company Tuesday, the first “SD” card in the world with a storage capacity of 1 TB.

The new card, “SanDisk Extreme Pro 1TB SDXC is still a primarily  prototype  and therefore there is no information on the price or availability date in the world markets.

The company explained that the new card comes to meet the growing demand for technologies that require high storage capacity, such as high resolution images in addition to 360-degree photos or the virtual reality videos.

As usual, this kind of cards most likely comes at a high price too, which is the down side of this kind of cards in addition to the slow speed of reading and writing because of the enormous storage capacity.
SanDisk unveiled the new card in  Photokina 2016 exhibition that is  currently being held in Cologne, the German city.
SanDisk which is owned by Western Digital the specialized manufactures of storage drives, has revealed the first 512 GB SD card two years ago during Photokina exhibition in 2014, for $800  before it drops down now to $200.
Chief Executive of Stargate Studios  and member of the American Society for movie photographers Sam Nicholson said, “Two years ago, the idea of 1TB SD card looked like a far future thing but it is amazing that it become true.”
