iPhone 8 will be a revolutionary phone, unlike iits predecessor, boring iPhone 7, if latest news and rumors turned to be true.

It is expected that the new Apple phone includes wireless charging feature, unlike rival devices such as: Google, Samsung, HTC, and Huawei, which are mostly use the standard Qi open-interface for conductive charging that only charge within 4 cm away (1.6 inches).

Reports indicate that Apple has reached an agreement with the wireless charging company Energous,  which provided a wireless charging device called WattUp RF that can charge devices from a distance of up to 4 meters (15 Inches), according to a report published on the Express website.

According to the company, WattUp RF technology can be added to a wide range of electronic devices, including smart phones, tablets, wearable devices and cameras including wireless keyboards and mouse combos and remote control devices any any other devices that need charging.

If any of these devices at a distance of less than 4 meters from the transmitter, the device will be able to charge the battery as if it is plugged into a wall socket.

The charging device  uses radio frequency system (RF), which is similar to Wi-Fi that provides a safe wireless charging solution. Unlike CHOE shipping platform which is used for Galaxy S7 EDGE phones, WattUp RF uses wireless frequency to charge as per Energous company and the system can deal with 12 different receivers at one time. This means, if you have an Apple Watch, and a keyboard, mouse and Apple TV, and iPhone 8, and iPad Pro, you can charge all of them in the same room with the transmitter WattUp RF.

Apple and Energous partnership

In early 2016, Energous announced its cooperation with a first class company in the field of electronics to implement WattUp technology in consumer devices, but it did not show more details about the partnership yet. A new report from Fast Company indicated that there is a partnership between Dialog, the Apple supplier, and Energous where  Energous has received $10 million from Dialog Semiconductor which is the manufacturer of electronic chips last month as a part of the deal.

This does not seem as a  confirmation that Energous will supply the technology to Apple, however, given the fact that about three-quarters of the Dialog work is done for Apple Dialog, there is a strong indicator of that.

The  CEO of Energous Steve Reason has confirmed in a statement, that the company will transfer all electronic chip manufacturing operations to Dialog. He said: "We will move all electronic chip manufacturing operations to Dialog and  all Energous technologies will be sold under the trademark of for Dialog and all the sale orders will also be through Dialog."

iPhone 8  A Plate Of Glass!

According to Wall Street news paper, John Ive, Apple CEO of design wants iPhone 8 to look like a plate of glass. It will be provided by an OLED screen with curved edges that wraps around the phone structure. Also the phone will come without the home button, Instead it will come with fingerprint sensor under the screen glass.

Apple has already been awarded several patents in the United States, since March 2015, explaining the three different techniques used to scan fingerprints, with one of them called Ultrasound Imaging, which can be used to identify the fingerprint through the screen glass.

The patent indicated that Ultrasound Imaging is more accurate than using a standalone fingerprint sensor like those in the Touch ID scanners used in the current generation of iPhones. Without the Home button, iPhone 8 screen stretches to the bottom of the device occuping the edges around the screen to increase total surfece of the screen, with the exception of the area that contains the FaceTime camera in the upper part of the screen which is expected to remain.

It is also expected that the new screen made of glass like iPhone 4 and 4S which will be diffent than the curved  Aluminum design that was introduced for the last three generations of iPhone..It is expected that Apple launches the new design early next year with the updated iPad set. It is also expected that the new iPad to come with high-resolution 10.9-inch screen which could be released next spring.
