For the first time .. Apple plans to award $200 thousand for those who discover security gaps.
Apple announced on Thursday during their participation in the “Black Hat” conference that it intends to launch a new program of rewards for those who discover gaps in their products, joining the counterparts of other tech companies that rely on such programs for years.
The company explained that the new program, which will be launched in September 2016, will offer cash bonuses of up to $ 200 thousand for those who discover loopholes in any of their operating system or in the recent generations of its products.
This initiative is the first for Apple to offer financial rewards for those who discover gaps in their products, although it has a long history in the detection of security vulnerabilities.
The known Bug Bounty product, which provide security researchers and ethical hackers  money rewards for the discovery and alerting technology companies about gaps in their products and provide solutions to protect users, means encouraging companies to admit any gaps once discovered.
Major technology companies including Google, Microsoft, and Facebook, relies on such programs for years, so that Google paid during the last year more than two million dollars within its own rewards program, for the discovery of flaws in the Android OS.
