Samsung Acquires Artificial Intelligence Company

Samsung has announced today that it has acquired Viv Laps, the US company specializing in the emerging field of artificial intelligence that was established by the developers of AppleĀ Siri, The intelligent digital assistant.

The South Korean company said that it plans to integrate artificial intelligence owned by Viv Labs in its smart products like home appliances, wearable devices and other devices including smart phones.

The world’s technology companies are in a hot Ā race for artificial intelligence platforms to satisfy consumers demands for interactive devices especially voice activated, and Google is the biggest competitor with Amazon’s Alexa, Google’s Siri and Mircosfot’s Cortana.

It is believed that Samsung is seeking through this deal, which the financial details hasĀ not announced yet, to enter this area hoping to integrate artificial intelligence in there products from phones to refrigerators.

TheĀ acquisition of Ā Viv Labs will allow Samsung effectively compete with Google company whichĀ just launched their smart phones Pixel, which is employing artificial intelligence in their digital the assistant “Google assistant” in addition to powerful specifications in the hardware and software which put it a strong rivals Samsung and Apple.
Samsung official explained that the company is really in strong need to revolutionize their products and integrate technology to use sound control not just touching, “We can depend sololy on the technology we owe”.
The executive director & Co-founder Dag Kitalos said in a statement that his company will continue to work independently from Samsung even after the acquisition keeping the current staff and company management.
